Is there any other lip colour that is more powerful and striking than a rich red lip? The moment I wear red lips I immediately feel more like the woman I always dreamed of being, sassy, confident and classy.
With the party season fastly approaching us, I’ve been raiding my makeup draw for this years perfect red lip for me.
And I think I’ve found it.
This year I’m going with a super glossy, bold lip. which comprises of three products to try and maximise longevity, and withstand all my mince pie eating.
My Lipstick of choice is the beautiful Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani in shade 400. This is such a creamy blue toned red, that would of suited any 1940s bombshell.
*Rumor has it Mr. Armani brought a red rose to his lab and asked them for that exact color for a lipstick and that is where this lipstick was born.*
How to wear a red lip?
You’re always going to want to trace the outline of your lips with a lip pencil first as this will stop the red from bleeding, and also give you a nice clear outline making it easier to fill your lips in.
I firstly applied Laura Merciers lip pencil in Ruby, and then layered Laura Merciers lip glace in Ruby Spark over the top of my Armani lipstick. This lip glace is incredibly creamy and has a lovely subtle shimmer to it, unfortunately this was a limited edition product, but some concessions may still have some in stock.
Its always best to keep the eyes quite simple when your wearing such a vibrant lip. Ive opted for a soft winged eyeliner using Laura Merciers caviar stick in smoke. These caviar sticks are a creamy consistency, which blends out smoothly and then sets.
The great thing about wearing a soft eyeliner, is you don’t have to worry about getting your line dead straight which also makes application time a lot quicker.
