How To Be A Productive Blogger + Twitter Chat Times

Its that time of the month.

 No, I don’t mean that time of the month. Its that time of the month when I go on a bit of a lull. Productivity seems to be at its lowest, and the lazy girl that’s hidden not so deep down inside of me, is doing her best to ensure my backside doesn’t leave the sofa unless completely necessary (stocking up on Pringles). So here I am trying to write a post about being productive when I’m feeling my uttermost unproductive. It makes total sense,… Anyway, lets crack on before my brain realises that its no longer staring at pointless stuff on my phone and goes into retreat,

 

PLAN AHEAD

For the past few weeks, I’ve been swamped with other life commitments (being a lazy cow counts as commitments, yes?), and it’s made me be a bit of a  fail at keeping all my social media up to date.  Which wouldn’t have happened if I managed to keep up with my intentions of planning ahead. IE taking bulk pictures when the lightings good, actually typing up the blog posts I had brainstormed instead of scrolling through Netflix, looking for things I may want to watch.

Netflix is actually becoming a part-time job.

EMAILS

 Check that Inbox, spam box, and junk mail.

Delete all emails from Misguided sales and offers of  Russian brides. It’s such a major ball ache I know, but once you’ve done it and you get that little congratulation on a clean inbox notification from Hotmail, you should be feeling pretty smug with yourself.

For bonus points, actually, unsubscribe from all unwanted mail that ends up in your inbox. Or use a website like Unroll Me to do it for you, saving yourself more time for a Netflix scroll.

Hit Up GOOGLE ANALYTICS

Spend a little time playing around with Google’s analytics and find out what posts are performing the best and how users are finding you. I know a majority of you guys come in off of Twitter, so I tend to spend most of my time on that platform. By having a little nose around, you can find out exactly what it is your readers want from you, giving you (hopefully) more inspiration for posts.

SCHEDULE SOCIAL MEDIA

I have massive respect for the people that manage to organically tweet, gram and facebook their content every day.

How do you do it?!

True to my lazy girl style I schedule my social media content, otherwise, truth be told, I would forget.

There are many a websites that will help you to schedule these channels but I use Buffer as it has a simple website design that’s pretty self-explanatory.

By using  Buffer I can also see what tweets are getting the most clicks, which is another great way to know what posts are performing well, and you guessed it, more inspo!

TIPS AND MUST HAVE PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT

GET INVOLVED

If all else fails get yourself involved in a Twitter chat. I always feel more motivated and inspired after coming away from a Twitter chat. Its usually just the kick up the lazy bum that’s needed.

    I use Buffer the free version so I have to schedule every two days (I arrange for 5 tweets a day) which is better than doing manually. I have learn to take almost a week worth of IG pictures recently so I can consistently post content on it, some days my plan works better than others, it's hard to work around a 3 year old.

    Really great post! I only just signed up with google analytics and i have no idea what I'm doing…. I'm going to have to do some googling hahah at the moment I'm doing 3 posts a week which is a lot for me but I'm going to see how it goes and assess from there! I'm having to pre-plan and up my organisation with posts hahah I wish I did more twitter chats but living in Australia is a bummer with times hahaha Em xx

    I really want some Pringles now after reading this ha! I find that planning ahead makes me feel so much more organised and relaxed. Sometimes it can be hard to keep up with everything and forward planning helps so much x
